LONDON –
Gorillaz will perform a one-off stadium show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2026.
The scale of the production and the curated selection of guest collaborators reflect a strategic approach to singular, high-capacity event programming designed to integrate diverse musical eras and cultural influences, in a venue that has become a flagship for large-scale entertainment as well as elite sport.
Collaborator Line-up
The performance will feature a variety of guest artists. Confirmed performers include Little Simz, De La Soul, and Shaun Ryder, underscoring the band’s long-standing practice of pairing its virtual line-up with real-world collaborators drawn from hip-hop, alternative rock and contemporary UK rap.
The event is described as featuring “multi-cultural, multi-generational music,” aligning with the project’s broader objective of cross-genre synthesis that has defined Gorillaz since the late 1990s and helped shape the mainstream acceptance of animated, concept-driven acts.
Production, Regulation and Atmosphere
The stadium show is positioned as a unique event rather than part of a standard touring cycle, placing added emphasis on production values, crowd experience and coordination with local authorities. As with all major UK stadium concerts, organisers will be required to comply with licensing and safety obligations set out under the UK’s Licensing Act 2003, covering everything from noise levels and alcohol sales to operating hours.
Regarding the environment surrounding the production, one description noted:
The vibe is ridiculous
The event’s logistics include a specific setlist and a coordinated schedule of support acts and guest appearances to manage the stadium’s capacity and audience flow, working alongside transport planning, security contracting and local council oversight typical of concerts at Premier League venues such as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
For Gorillaz, whose members exist as animated characters created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the show extends a long-running experiment in how virtual bands can occupy real-world stages at scale, building on a catalogue of nine studio albums and numerous collaborations to date.
